Introducing Our New Leadership Team: A stellar lineup of Expertise

It’s that time of the year when a new Board takes over the leadership of our beloved DigiClan Africa and we are glad to present the newly appointed directors who will run the affairs of the Clan across the African continent for the next year. These people bring a wealth of experience and expertise with them, and we are confident that they will assist us in achieving our goals and continuing to grow and flourish as a community.

We would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome our new President and his directors, who are as follows:

Oluwapelumi OYETIMEIN, our new President, is a multi-award-winning, certified, and highly skilled digital professional who has led and trained various teams across different countries. He has previously held the position of Director of Programmes & Partnerships.

With over 10 years of cognate experience, he has worked across various industries/sectors which include B2B/Saas, Media & PR, e-commerce, Tech, Health, News & Content, and Non-profit among others, and has achieved great results for more than a few companies including Google, Opera Software, Naspers, Lagos State Government, Oyo State Government, and more.

He is currently one of Africa’s best performance marketing and growth specialists and his hobbies include watching movies, listening to music, and playing football manager. 

Mobola AKINGBALA, the new Director of Administration & Operations, is a skilled communications and brand growth strategist with over 12 years of experience across various roles in marketing communications. 

She started her career in traditional marketing and has gone on to lead teams in strategy and brand communications both on the agency and client sides. She has been responsible for creating transformational marketing campaigns for big brands in various industries such as Fintech, Cryptocurrency, Insurance, Hospitality, Real estate, Logistics, Food, and beverages to name a few.

Today her role pulls on all her experience in growth and marketing to facilitate strategic growth and partnerships for Loose Media, a marketing tech company serving various organizations across sectors, especially startups.

Enoch APPIAH Jnr, the new Director of Programmes & Partnerships is a digital marketer who has worked with startups and multinationals for over 10 years. He has run successful social media, email, and SEO ads using analytics and metrics. 

He is always looking for new marketing trends and tools to keep up with market trends and he enjoys helping companies reach their goals and improve their bottom line.

His hobbies are reading, exploring the outdoors with his camera, and keeping up with marketing trends. He produces a podcast that covers all he had learned as a digital marketer.

Emmanuel IBEKWE, the new Director of Communications, is a Coursera digital marketing trainer and corporate consultant, for establishments in Africa and beyond. Emmanuel applies Kaizen to marketing and sales to help firms and individuals become prosperous as he believes scaling through life should always involve learning, unlearning, and relearning as things change. 

Emmanuel started as a social media manager for NWS Saladmaster Lagos, Ghana, and the UK. He later quit to become a digital marketing intern at GText, a controversial choice motivated by a desire to learn. In less than six months, he became the head of training, training firm clients in Nigeria and beyond. Since then, Emmanuel has trained over 5 million Nigerian youngsters in digital literacy at Google Digital Skills (now Google Hustle Academy). Many private digital marketing projects and training have featured Emmanuel. He creates Coursera USA MOOCs to teach digital marketing.

Emmanuel is passionate about the opportunity digital marketing offers individuals in all sectors of the economy and is always available to consult with such sectors to see how marketing might improve things.

We are thrilled to have these exceptionally skilled people join the Clan’s Board of Directors, and we are certain that their contributions will enable us to continue achieving remarkable things. DigiClan Africa is a community of digital practitioners in Africa with the goals of connecting, empowering, and fostering the expansion of Africa’s digital ecosystem. Their goal is to encourage collaboration, the development of skills, and innovation among the members of the group in order to realize their vision of a flourishing digital industry in Africa.

DigiClan Africa provides its members with access to a variety of programs, events, and resources, some of which include opportunities for networking, training, mentorship, employment opportunities, and access to financing and investment. In addition to this, they have formed relationships with a variety of organizations and businesses operating in the digital sector in Africa.
